Heater Control Knob Wont Turn To Adjust Temperature

Hi all, as above my heater controle knob wont turn round. I have taken the knob off and tried to turn the spindle with pliers but to no avail.

Everything else works fine but this one wont budge at all ​

Any advice greatly received ​

Have you check the metal cable.

 

My control knob did something simliar.

 

It would turn but the hole on the back of the board where the cable located into was guttered out so it wouldnt hold in position.
