15 X 6.5 Et20 Wheels On A 205

Recommended Posts

dobboy

Someone local to me is selling a set of Ouragan/GTR/Nimrod Alloys and i'm thinking of buying them.

The info on them is limited and only that they are 15" and came off a 307HDI

Looking at the Pug catalogue the 15" version of the Ouragan wheel only came with a 20 offset, (unlike the 14" and 16" which came with a couple of different offsets)

Am i correct in thinking if they are the 15" version (6.5J and ET20), that they'll be a direct fit without the need for spacers etc?

and also would my standard 1.9 15" wheel bolts be ok to use?

and will they clear my 206GTI180 calipers ok?

TIA

Went to see the wheels i had in mind to buy.

They are stamped Ouragan but are 15x6 ET27

This size isnt listed in Pug catalogue.

(I assume they wont fit)

Anyone any ideas?

they'll fit fine, 1.6 wheels are ET25 and 5.5", so an extra quarter of an inch front and back wont hurt, I've had an ET28 16x6.5 Ouragan bolted up without spacers!

WP, just now i have standard 1.9 wheels on.

Am i correct in thinking that as this Ouragan set is ET27 and are 6J, that the wheels would sit ever so slightly further in to the car (4mm per side)?

also, do you think this particular 15" version would clear my GTI180 front calipers ok?

(I'm thinking i might be best holding out for a 15" or 16" with ET20 offset)

Not convinced they'll fit without fouling the trailing arm.

405 Mi16 wheels don't for example and they're 15x6 ET29 - indeed, even standard 1.9 wheels and 195 width tyres are very close to the ARB end plate and often you'll find light rub marks where they've touched.

I needed 5mm spacers to run mi16 wheels on my 306 due to them fouling the trailing arm on the rear, which i'd imagine would be the same as a 205 due to the trailing arms/hubs being largely interchangeable.

Plus they didnt look particularly good because they were no where near flush with the arches on the outside face either.

Obviously that isn't the exact same wheel or car but i'd imagine the overall effect will be similar.

Sam, thats what i was thinking, the wheels would be brought into the car rather than "as is" or being pushed out to arches.

i'll just wait and try get correct offset.

I think i've located a set of 15" 6.5J ET20 Ouragans

According to this:

http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=195&aspect=55&diameter=15&wheelwidth=6&offset=19&width2=195&aspect2=50&diameter2=15&wheelwidth2=6.5&offset2=20

they will be 7.4mm more inside the car, and poke out 5.4mm more, which i imagine should be ok?

Does anyone foresee any problems putting this particular wheel over GTI180 front calipers?

206/307 have more disc offset than the 406 these come from so they have very decent clearance.

Does anyone know if my (long headed) 1.9 wheel bolts will be the correct ones for the Ouragans?
