What Is The Correct Rad Fan Switch

My fan comes on just as the car gets to normal temp, noticeably low on the temp gauge and is often on during normal driving! The ring on the rad switch is a lilac blue colour, what colour should it be and what temp should it switch at for a '93 DKZ?

I've always fitted the switch with the red ring to my GTI's

All the DKZ's have blue ones in Australia.

I can see why they would work in Oz! Here just waiting at lights for one minute brings the fan on which is clearly too much, it's so bad it's burnt the motor out! The blue switch closes at 85deg where as the red one is 92deg!

So the red one works perfectly, needle stays in middle and fans come on only when sitting for a while, perfect!!
