205 Starts And Runs But Wont Re-Start After First Run?

Hi Everyone

 

My 205 Gti 1.9 automatic now runs however once it has been run for a while if it then dies....... It doesnt like or wont re-start any ideas????

 

My car seems to be a bit of a mystery as it has a ''DFZ'' 1.9 105bhp that has pre- 90's parts like the cambelt kit was the bracket type etc....

 

Can anyone assist as to why shes doing this???

 

Do I have the right parts (already with the car when purchased) for DFZ

Could it be the Hot Start problem.

 

I had it on mine. Short little trips fine. However, if the engine was up to full tempreture. It would would not start until the engine cooled down which would normally take about 40 minutes.

 

It was diagnosed and fixed by Jackherer.

 

The problem was with the brown multi plug above the gear box.

 

The fix was just to by pass the light blue wire, if I remember correctly, away from the plug which leads into the starter motor.

 

Since then the old girl has started first time every time.

Could it be fuel starvation? Have you checked the fuel rail when it cuts out?

all the parts are correct for the 105 bhp engine running Jetronic.

Following this thread with interest as I have a similar problem. Start from cold = no problem. Driving = no problem. Hot start; will start ok, but wil not tick over or run unless I rev it hard to the red line, just once. After that, back to normal.
