Mi16 Cylinder Head Query...

Morning,

 

There's a guy selling Mi16 heads near me and one has the expected 8 exhaust ports, the other has 4.

 

The fire face also looks quite different, with what appears to be much bigger oil return holes.

It also has separate cam carriers each side and appears to need two rocker covers!

 

What the hell is it? And do they both belong on the same bottom end?!

if one has 4 exhaust ports its not an MI16/S16.

 

two CAM covers suggests a later XU head, could be anything from a 115 bhp XU7, to the 167 bhp XU10J4RS, or even an EW engine.

 

XU's don't have rockers.

That has been on ebay for quite a while now, clearly not an mi16. I thought it was a TU5J4? But i've not much experience with them to confirm.

I've been with Citroen for about 4 years now, in that time i've seen all of 2-3 EW engines. No one buys large(ish) petrol engines anymore! I'd say over 90% of the cars i see are DV6 engines. The only XU10 i can remember ever seeing in the workshop was my old Xsara!

There's another pair on eBay but have no cam caps, cams or anything, therfore a bit useless...

not hoarding, just got them in the shed because the bottom ends gave way, and done nothing with them since, they're both 2.0 heads from a ZX.

 

Could do with the space + cash really!
