Wheel Arches. Standard Or Big Ones?

Recommended Posts

HERMAN

While my car is being prepped for paint I am contemplating cutting out the arches and fitting after market/ universal arches

If I stay with standard arches is a 195 tyre about as wide as I can go?

I would like to get more tyre on the road and now would be a good time to commit to wider arches than getting it painted and cutting it about later.

How much do have to cut out (pictures)?

Just after some inspiration really. I have never done any thing like this before.

Cheers

Neil

Not done in on a 205 but did so on my subaru..

I might have pictures somewhere.. fronts are easy.. but would recommend fitting the new wheels / tyres beforehand.. I didint as didnt have them to hand at the time and then had to reposition the arches and still look a little bit off depending on ride height of the car.

the front you can simply fit the arches and then remove and cut the arch to just below where the arch fits etc.. I used arches with holes in and rivnuts to hold them on.

The rear was more tricky in that I had to cut the arch liner and fold it up once the arch was cut out and reweld it.. will look for pics.
