Hi guys just after a bit of advice,

Narrowed the running issue in my 1.9 gti to the AFM, won't rev when idling sometimes and can temporarily cut out, yet give the AFM a slap on the top and it's as good as gold for a bit? Anyone else had this?

I can see it's been opened an re sealed.

I've done some searches on here and seem to find the correct 1.9 AFM should have 109 at the end of the part number?

Just wondered if someone could tell me if this is correct or not and whether a 1.9 with a CAT and a 1.9 without a CAT run the same AFM?

Thank you

The AFM you linked to wont work in place of a 109.

Cat AFMs are actually the same as Mi16 AFMs.

1.9 CAT and 1.9 non-CAT use different AFMs and are not interchangable.

1.9 CAT uses Motronic management and shares the same AFM as a 1.9 Mi16 engine - part number ends 202 on these.

Lovely, thank you very much for your help, is there a guide or anyone that's good with these to re calibrate and check one over or can anyone recommend where to find a replacement?

Thank you

If giving a slap helps, then it's worth checking the loom wires and connectors as they come up to the AFM, as well as the internals of the AFM itself.

Might be worth seeing if it's getting stuck open. Mine sometimes does this.
