1.9 With Cat, Spark Plugs?

Recommended Posts

Bobbafett

Just wondering what are the absolute best plugs to put in a 1993 1.9 with cat.

Didn't make a note of what was in there originally before I changed them to NGK BCPR6E, but then changed to BCPR6E IX. Performance seems to have gotten progressively worse each time.

Should I go hotter? The plugs are black sooted.

I have the same in my late 205 , so NGK BCPR6E . No need for anything special spark plug wise .

If they're covered with sooty deposits theres something wrong with air-fuel mixture , sooty plugs causes incorrect/rich fuel mixture - bad ECU temp. sensor and AFM would be first ones to check .
