1988 205 Gti Brochure Digitally Re-Mastered

Recommended Posts

I am thrilled to have just bought a 1993 Phase 2 Graphite Grey 1.9. It takes me back 25 years and I couldn't be happier knowing it is tucked in the garage under a cover, just waiting for the dry and salt free roads....

Knowing of my obsession, my father-in-law bought me what might be one of my tip-top christmas presents - a mint 1998 Sales Brochure which are pretty rare...

In a break from editing car photos I decided to digitally re-master the main images from the brochure. This involved some high-res scans followed by exhaustive re-touching and re-rendering. You have to smile now at the limited renderings given today's CGI trickery, but it is of its time, and I think, a beautiful thing...

Please feel free to download this from my site as a wallpaper. I'm going to be talking to Peugeot about the possibility of make some beautiful large scale prints from this. Iff you are interested just PM me at ashley@lightflow.co.uk

Andy! Shooosh you'll ruin the illusion....

Funny isn't it? It's not the first or last time that mistake has/will be made. Something tells me that's not a real desert either, or shadow whilst we're on the subject....

But.. it's still a nice piece of artwork for it's time given the limited computer graphics at their disposal. Everything's a bit more sophisticated now...

Never said anything about the desert but now you come to mention it ;) The car seems to be a real photo as its got a wonky n/s driving lamp too but yes I like it.

Looks very nice on my monitor, even the kids cooooored at it lol

Yes - the car is a real photo - just the background and some late eighties tacky compositing - which makes it looks so cheesy.... but in a way better for it! :D
