Head Gasket Costing

Recommended Posts

Mungo

Hi.

I was about to list my green 1.9 on ebay this week, but i think the head gasket has decided to introduce itself. Car is running rich and the water pressure is rising rapidly.

Any idea of what i will be looking at for a head gasket change at all (plus the other obligatory bits), as i haven't got the time!

for a good job, you're looking at £600 ish, for a quick job maybe £350-400.

Could be anything, Depends if you get threads stripping, head bolts snapping, Corroded block to name a few

Sorry to sound negative but I've done too many to know that all go as planned these days

Just sell it me , it will be a lot less hassle than getting it repaired ;0)

Great news, is that it isn't the head gasket!! It looks like i had overfilled the expansion tank and the pressure was forcing water out. One of my customers (classic car restorer and Sebring builder), had it running for an hour on Friday with no issues, so ebay it is from last night!!!

Shame though Speno, i always wanted to get the Miami Blue model as well and keep them both as long term projects....life never quite turns out right!!!
