Cti Engine Swop

I havea1.9 cti with a cat I want to do a engine swop a1.9alloy block mi 16 If I fit this will the car need a cat as this car has one as standard. Cti is a 1993. Car

Yes it will need one for the mot unfortunately

 

But you can remove it straight after till next mot :lol:

It wont need a cat as long as its not a cat equipped MI16 engine originally.

 

It is tested on whichever is oldest, if you put an early non cat 1.9 8 valver in there you could dispense with the cat too.

But you need to prove this at the MOT station, I would check the chassis number first as quite often these are long before the Reg date which gets around these rules
