Is This The Right Coil..?

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Just seen this on eBay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-205-MK-II-1-9-GTI-CAT-1987-TO-1994-IGNITION-COIL-HIGH-ENERGY-DLB198-GENU-/171134539077?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27d869d545

Is it ok for a 1989 non cat 205 1.9?

Only ask as it says 1987 to 1994 but has engine code as XU9J1

Did the ignition coil vary over the years?

Thanks

Rob

A oil cooled coil is just that, it will fit anything from a Mini to a Roll's royce, only the inlet mounted coils are different

Also a bit off this topic. is this the right TPS for a 1989 1.9

There are two different looking ones!

No, wet coils are different between those that are switched by points and condenser, versus those switched by electronic ignition. A points/condenser coil will fry an electronic ignition module.

Nobody knows! It says it's right but it doesn't give a part number. The picture is definitely wrong but it says 'generic part' so that means nothing.
