Locked Ecu?

Iv just finished my gti6 conversion but it wont start. It turns over and the fuel pump primes but nothing.

 

My question is if my ecu was locked and not the 'unlocked' one I bought what would this stop from working ??

Sorry this was me being lazy and not using the search function. Just found out that if my ecu wss locked I wouldnt have any injection or spark and I know my injectors are working
