its a 1996 106 xsi s1. it came from factory with a tu2j2 engine(same as 106 rallye)

i boughted it a year ago with a couple things to do but i end up doing everything else but repair the things that already were damaged when i bought it

well came across some great bargains and only this time they appeared when i had the money to get them, i went crazy and left home to pick the most parts i could until i got no more money to spend. wasnt much but i think it was a good price in general.

heres what i got

-tu2j2 head only with valves, rockers and cam cover
-catcams 671
-catcams double springs
-adjustable pulley
-spare tu2j2 intake manifold

all this cost me 190€

i think it was a pretty good price since only a used 671cam over here is rarely sold for less than 250€

anyway i'll post some pics soon

that's an unusual one, as the XSI in the UK had a TU3 then later a TU5, same head and cam as the rallye but a different inlet manifold.

in portugal the s1 xsi was sold with tu2 tu3 and tu5 engines.

the tu5 is extremely rare to find here. the tu3 is not so rare. the tu2 is the most common engine on the stock xsi's. but most of the owners just swap the bottom end for a tu5 one

the TU2/3 had higher specific output than most 16v engines of that time. the TU5 might have more torque but it doesn't punch above its weight like the TU2.
