Zx Driveshafts In 2.0 Turbo

I really cannot get the hang of the search tool for achive posts!! So, as the title, Ive just gained ZX td gearbox and shafts in the search for longer gears over my current 306XSI box.

The shafts look much better than stock 1.9 items.Any ideas if they'll fit my 205 with 1.9 hubs and 309 wishbones?

No, far too long, otherwise should be nigh on identical to 1.9 shafts though.

By the look of them the're hollow.

Surely there's a specialist out there who can cut and reweld them?......

Cheers

Yes they are tubular, need 30mm taking out of the "outer" shaft, anything is possible BUT is it really worth the effort of having shafts shortened and then straightened when 205 1.9 shafts will fit straight in?

Aren't original ZX 'shafts solid like 205/309 ones, and it's later 306/Xsara/406 'shafts that are hollow?

Certainly the early ZX's that I've had have had 205/309 1.9 like driveshafts in every way other than length (and number of ABS teeth in the case of ABS models). Later ones might be different.

I agree with Tom though - why go to the hassle of getting the shafts shortened when, as far as I'm aware, you're likely to be paying not far off the same money that a new/reconditioned set of 1.9 shafts will cost anyway if you're not in a position to do the cutting/welding to the required standard yourself.

yes they are solid originally in any case that I have seen as yet.

I've kindof got into the mindset that gen 205 shafts are now getting rare and quality replacement aftermarket or rebuilds are difficult to source.(Is this the case?)

As the shafts came free with the box,it was worth looking at options.

Thanks again for the input.
