Digital Odometer Milage Check

Recommended Posts

slobberingant

I've spotted a few 306s in the local wrecker yard with potential conversion Xu10j4r engines.

It would be nice to have an idea of their mileage but they all have digital odometers. I have no access to keys and batteries are removed so I can't give life to the dashboard the usual way.

Does anybody have any tricks for checking the mileage on xu10 engines with digital odometers in wrecking yards?

battery on and hotwire would be the easiest method, hotwiring to just get the ignition on is simple enough, starting is another matter due to the immobilisers obviously.

That makes sense. Not having dealt with digital displays before I was worried that they required some sort of hocus pocus to get working.

Thanks for the advise. I'll give it a shot.

usually you just need to connect the battery then press the trip reset button on the cluster and it should light up..... although we are talking about peugeot here so god knows whats going to happen haha
