Oops, good start!

Hi, i have a friend with a 2.0l zetec to which he has fitted some piper (i think) direct fit cams. He has two cylinders firing very late, resulting in a very hot manifold, and two not firing. I.realise its a very open ended question, but should mildish cams work with out vernier pullys?

Thanks

Matt

I would imagine they'll be in a 'safe' position on the standard timing marks, not perfect but should run without issue. Unless they've been ground radically wrong on two cylinders I would of thought all cylinders would be off if it was a timing issue??

Or the plug leads are on wrong, or dead coil, wasted spark on a zetec.

I was thinking it would be odd for two cylinders to be radicaly different. The coils apparently a good tested unit, hope hes got leads on correct way. I presumed the std pullys would be ok to get it running, how much roughly do verniers adjust? Cant be a lot? Also thinking pullys might be on wrong way round? Exh on inlet etc?
