Approved Alloys

On a road car it's standard wheels or GTFO. Nothing else suits the styling, except maybe the Fondmetals.

I disagree:

I think sl434's are lurvely.

I've 'come out of retirement' to post on this thread.

NEVER in the history of wheels and cars (including horse carts, horseless carriages, jalopies, vans, trucks, pick ups, SUVs, caravans, stage-coaches...) has there ever been an alloy/car combination better than the 1.9 Speedline/205 GTi combo. FACT

Also 'acceptable' on a 205 GTi:

- 1.6 alloys

- SL434s (but do look an awful lot like a 1.9 wheel so why bother?)

106 Rallye Steels are acceptable provided the owner also owns a set of mint 1.9 alloys and the steelies are for the winter tyres.

None of this is up for debate. Disagreeing only means you are wrong.

I don't know why everybody is so obsessed with 434s, I think they are awful, the gusset bits where the spoke meets the rim look totally wrong. They have historical significance for 205s but they are not a nice looking wheel IMO, the 1.9 wheel design is far better.

I vote 434's for the summer, c5 'steelies' for the winter/track.

Using adapters as they are Ford fitment, but I believe if you go for the Pug fitment version you shouldn't need to use any spacers.

The wider track is due to 1.6 hubs and 309 beam.
