Ok so as most of you know ive been at the center of an alloys frenzy of late , this is just a general census on what you all think suit the 205 alloy wise.

I'm not personally convinced that the original 15" 1.9 GTi alloys can be bettered in terms of wheels that suit a standard tidy GTi as they just look so "right" - just a question in my mind of whether it's in original silver or done Goodwood style, and that depends largely on the bodywork colour.

Lazer greens with goodwood style look brilliant weather there sl's or 1.9's. Just with 1.9's it looks like a Griffe. But is it a good or bad thing to look life a Griffe. Personally I don't think it matters. That bit is just personal preference

Those sl434 are one of the worst wheels I've ever seen... Really don't see the appeal.

I like steelies on 205's to add my input

Ok going to mix this up abit as all thats going to happen whats your top 2 set (not including the 1.9 speelines) and then give a 3rd (outsider) meaning be brave something different to the usual norm etc because im sure most of you will have seen a set u may have thought would look good etc

SL434's are quite common now (apart from the original "works" spec ones!). The rarest are SL341's from the 309 Turbo Cup

Looks wise, 180's are nice but the handling is impacted

I like a dish on a wheel, but this can impact the brake size

What wheels would I like?

Some PLS wheels as fitted to Euro built Dimmas

post-3457-0-51486100-1375301976_thumb.jpg

Or more likely a proper set of Gutmann wheels

Love the 434's but they just wouldn't work with the factory bodykit on mine :(

I know there was an older thread on here with pics of the 205 on various different Pug manufactured alloys, but some of the links seem to have expired / removed from hosting sites, etc, on that thread.

On that basis has anyone got any pics of the 205 on the 15" 306 S16 / XSI 5 spoke alloys or the 15" 405 MI16 alloys?

What wheels are these, i like that!

For me 1.9 wheels are perfect, followed by sl434's. Its weird though, sometimes i look at the 434's and think they look awesome, then other time i think you can't beat standard 1.9 rims. Either way those 2 are the best, 1.9 rims are just a little better imo. Those guttman ones Henry posted look excellent too actually!

I have a set of these in the shed, 405 t16 16" 6.5j wheels. I personally love them. But shame they weren't 15", I think 16" may be overkill on a 205.

Swap for some 15" variants :P

Pretty much the same but more curve to the spoke.

I am actually in love with Tom Fentons 205 split rims on his car. They are at the top (well after mapping) of my purchase list! :)
