Maniflow Manifold Bracket?

Recommended Posts

I am in the process of researching a decent exhaust system for my 1.9 8v hillclimb beast. The clear winner so far is the Maniflow system. Looking at their website, the 8v manifold appears to have a bracket bolted down the length of one of the downpipes:

Does anyone know what this is for? I can't think of what it would secure to?

Possibly for the OEM air box. One side bolts to the head, the other to the exhaust manifold.

Ah! That would make sense. I've been running carbs for a while now so forgot about the OEM set up. Thanks MikeC.

It might possibly be a support that bolts to the engine to give the manifold rigidity.

Max.
