Xs Diff Broken, Advice Needed.

Hello,

I'm after a bit of advice regarding the gearbox on my 205 XS.

On the last event I did, the diff failed.

I took out the gearbox, all the gears are in good condition, synchro's look good too, which is surprising considering the miles it's done. I've decided to change the diff rather than change the gearbox.

My question is, now that the 205 XS bits are difficult to get hold of, what other MA gearbox diff's would fit the XS box? Are they all the same or are there subtle differences between the 205 and the 106 ones?

Any advice would be great!

Std Diff wise there is 2 types which just vary the Sun & Planet gear size, minor other internal mods over the years as well.

Diff's are always weak on these so a LSD is a huge step forward

I've been offered a saxo vtr gearbox for free, would the gear ratios on that gearbox be better for the XS?

 

An LSD is definitely on the cards for next year!!

Vtr gearboxes are the longest ratio ma box, top gear tops out at 140
