Correct Afm

Car has failed mot on emmisions only

 

It was only 500 out

 

Have adjusted and put my normal injector cleaner in so changing AFM is next route

 

I've a few of these in my garage from 205 1.6 and Visa 1.6

 

My code is 0280202109

 

I have mainly 0280202056

 

Are these just specific for 1.6 or will they work on my 1.9

109 is for 1.9,

 

056 for 1.6,

Im guessing he means Hydrocarbons,it may just be as simple as a good engine service,plugs,leads etc,its just unburnt fuel.Also was the engine nice and hot when it was tested as this makes a big difference to Hc's

Yes hydrocarbons were out

 

Made sure engine was very warm and all parts like leads, plugs, distributor etc are brand new so it is more than likey afm

Try playing with the AFM allen air bypass screw , on most of 1.9 AFM it's preset 7 to 8 turn up from fully down for passing the MOT sniff test .
