Underseal + Engine Bay Paint

Recommended Posts

m_attt

Currently swapping the engine on my 205, so having a good look over and tidy at the same time.

What is a durable paint for the engine bay, that can be done at home? (dont have compressor)

Also have notice some patches of underseal have come off underneath, so far its clean metal, whats a good thing to patch it in with, and then do the complete underside and wheel archs.

regards

hi there for starters id buy or hire yourself a compressor. you want 2k paint for your bay aerosol crap wont last. as for the underside use some stonechip to patch in peeled pieces (personally i wouldnt use waxoyl as its horrible when its all over you everytime you have to do anything underneath) but waxoyl all the underneath bar the exhaust tunnel if you like

oh and dont bother undersealing your wheel arches unless there are bare patches as these are very thick with underseal from factory .you will gain no benefit as they rust behind the existing sealer on the seams to be honest you can only slow the rust down unless you strip sandblast and start fresh hope this helps :)
