Mi16 Problem!

Wiring really depends on your skill's, Most of the attempts I see are dangerous but you do get the odd one which is OK, the main thing is to read up, Get the right tools and quite often the loom needs to be stripped, checked and remade up with new connectors at least these days

If you're going to get cams a 3rd party ECU will get more out of them.

I ran different cams for years on std mgmt.

Moving from mi16 inlet to a wasted spark set up on a Gti-6 inlet gained me 10bhp!

i need to have a think and decide wether or not to spend that kind of cash really, sooo tempting though. would you say the cost is worth the gains?

It's going to cost you a few quid to obtain the standard parts you need. Chances are they won't be in the best condition!

Get new stuff which means no issues, and you're halfway to getting throttle bodies! (man maths)
