Mi16 Sump Baffle Into An 8V 309?

Will an aftermarket sump baffle (pts/constella type) designed for a 405MI16 fit a 309/205 with the standard tin (I think) sump and spacer plate or will it be too shallow?

1.9 Mi16 and 1.9 8v GTi sumps are the same depth.

 

Tin and alloy sumps are a slightly different shape, so you need to see which the baffle is designed for or possibly adapt it to fit.

 

1.6 (and low spec 1.9 8v) sumps are deeper and the baffle from these is not interchangeable with the 1.9 GTi/Mi16 one.

I’m assuming they may be a slightly different shape but the bolt holes are in the same place so it’ll just be a case of trimming the internal bits to fit?

If so I may take a punt.
