hi is a coil and ignition amplifier from a 1.6 205 gti same as 1.9 gti?

Age rather than engine size dependant - the same age 1.6 and 1.9 models will share the same amp and coil.

 

Earlier cars (pre 1990) use a wing mounted wet coil, whereas later (1990 onwards) cars use an inlet mounted coil.
