Central Locking Advice

Recommended Posts

Projectuno

I have a phase 2 GTi with central locking (also has remote).

All was working perfectly until this week, either with the key or via the remote.

I had the door cards off to clean the recently and also fitted a modern radio, safely storing the original away. Could I have disturbed a plug or connector? I have checked the door connectors and the plug/s that fit to the lock actuators, all appears fine.

Any suggestions? Is there a relay or something that could have blown?

ORB

there is a controll unit attached to the steering column. Its just to the left about knee height.

I would suspect the twisty door loom connector thingie myself. I think they are cack and die whenever touched

I'm sure you have checked but the stereo and the central locking and the interior light all run off the same fuse on my car, but it is a phase 1.5 with no remote central locking....may be worth a check if you have changed the stereo etc.
