Water To Turbo

Recommended Posts

mang

Ive been building my turbo engine for ages now and just had a thought im going to send the main water line throught the turbo so theres no T's in the water ways at all. My question is do you think this will be ok or would it restrict the water flow to much???

The water flow through a turbo is only minimal. It's really just to cool the bearings down after you turn the engine off, there's no real volume of water at all.

2.1 with a gt30 I did not want to T off two extra pipes to go throught the turbo I was just going to put the main pipe on the turbo i.e the 16mm hose between the block and heater matrix.

on the 8vs they run from the heater matrix to the water distribution? block as that acts as the T, on side goes to the rad and one to the turbo, not sure if your looking to do the same as this?

The turbo will be too much of a restriction and you'll get virtually no flow to the heater.

What about using the hoses that heat the throttle body instead?
