Help With Engine Build

Hi.

 

I am about to build a new engine for my 309 Dimma. It's currently driven by a 8V 2.0T. I want to go 16V turbo.

 

Some of the parts that Iv'e got available and can be used are:

 

complete 8V 2.0T RGY engine

complete 8V 2.0T RGX engine

complete 16V 2.0 RFY engine

crank from a 2.1TD PHZ

pistons and rods from a T16 RGZ

 

What parts can and should be used together?

 

Does anyone have a recipe for a great turbo engine? =)

In short - S16 block, crank and head, T16 pistons, RFS inlet manifold and an exhaust manifold of your choice (T16 one fits straight on but has a strange turbo flange).

You say T16 pistons... Not the rods? Should I use the S16 rods then?

 

In what tuning setup is the 2.1TD crank usable? I have heard it is somehow...

They don't fit as the big end bearings are wider on T16 rods/crankshaft.

Still planning my build...

 

As I already have a clean and painted RGX block I wonder if there is a disadvantage using it instead of the S16 one? It also already has the oil return sorted.

 

How about this:

 

RGX block

RGX crank

RGX rods

T16 pistons

S16 head

RFS inlet manifold

T16/custom exhaust manifold

 

Do the T16 pistons fit the RGX rods?

Is this setup physically possible?

Could this be a good recipe for a turbo engine, c/r wise?
