Anyone Got A Motor With No Filter On?

Any of you dudes got a motor laying about with no oil filter on?

 

I am looking to know how long (in mm) the exposed thread is in relation to the mating surface of the oil filter seal?

 

I'm putting a threaded tube in place of (getting rid of) the heat exchanger and I want to know how deep it needs to be and how much exposed thread there is?

12mm to the casting, which sits ever so slightly deeper than the seal mating face, i.e 12mm sticking out.

I've got it Baz, but they drive in further then required sometimes!

 

I had two in my hand today and they were about 5mm different in length!

Ahh right, I've not had a problem with the few I've done but it sounds like they may be supplying them in different lengths then?
