Lay the back seats flat, it'll help maximise the effect of this mod.

on XU10J4R bosch engine management....

Pin 25 - Coolant Temp Sensor

Pin 2 - Earth

Pin 29 - Throttle Position

Pin 27 - Intake Air Temp Sensor

I personally wouldn't bother, it's a generic IC inside the unit which is just adding offsets to the CTS, TP & IAT sensors 'tricking' the ECU into running differently, it's almost completely random and could potentially cause damage to your engine, the proper way of doing this is a tried and tested remap from a reputable company.

I wonder how many times somebody has to be told not to do something silly, when they've already invested wasted several hundred euros on a bad decision

Perhaps we could formulate an equation about this :D

Donate it to the forum and get an electronics guru to pull it apart and publish findings.

Probably it will mimic a lower inlet temperature and lower CTS at higher loads, to increase fueling.

Maybe also mimic a lower load index to advance ignition and compensate the fuel with the sensors above.

But for 380 euro, total rip-off...

If you want to play with sensor data, better buy a Apexi s-afc, that allows you to program it your self and mod the MAP sensor data as well.

Yes, even with bad remaps you can have engine issue's, Mind each day and every run you do you will end up with different times
