Speed Sensor

Can someone confirm something for me please?

 

I am about to put a XU10J4RS into my 205 using the 1.9 but with an MI16 clutch.

 

I am aware I need a Speedo Sensor for the ECU, but not too sure exactly what one I need? I am guessing its 6160 24 but not 100%

 

Will this fit my 1.9 box? (are the gears the same?)

 

I am aware I will need to trim the box a bit near the mounting point for the sensor.

 

Anything else I need to know, fundamentally, is this the correct unit?

use the 205 drive gears, never had to do any grinding/cutting.

 

 

clutch has no bearing whatsoever on this.

When you say change gears, I assume you mean pull the gear off the bottom of the 205 speed sensor and put it on the new one?

Yes - it just pulls out of one and pushes into the other, thus keeping the speedo accurate.

Thanks for this topic, I dropped chriswb's turbo loom back to him a week or two since & we needed to find a suitable three pin vss with speedo cable drive to get things working properly.

Now we know what we need, chris will probably get his through work but ebay is a lot cheaper than dealers for the same part!!
