1.1 And Gti Steering Rack Differences?

Are they the same?

 

Primarily I'm interested if a GTI steering (lower) column for manual GTI rack fits a 1.1 (205 XL) rack.

There's two types of manual (non-PAS) lower column depending on age - square and spline type.

 

That's across all 205/309 models, so GTi and base model items are interchangeable providing they're of the correct type.
