Hi just wondering what grease I should use on these bushes for the clutch release fork. Thanks.

I never know they needed to be greased to be honest.

I think I'd use some silicone grease personally.

I think I just used some multi purpose lithium based grease.

I've got some mineral oil based grease, with lithium - calcium soap containing molybdenum disulphide and graphite. But didn't know if this would be suitable as its not metal to metal contact? Or am I worrying for nothing :D

If you use any grease on them I'd just go for a plain lithium grease.

Molybdenum grease are usually for wheel bearings or cv joints isn't it?

yup, I use red teflon grease, definitely not copper!

not sure what Peugeot or Citroen recommend actually, will have a dig through my paperwork...

most important bit is that your crossshaft is spotless and smooth.

Silicone grease (protects rubber , plastic , vinyl and nylon parts ..) .. lithium is also good ...

Molybdenum grease , for use where oils can't be used due to contamination problems ... dry graphite lubricates metal parts while remaining uncontaminated by dirt , water , oil or acids .. it's electrically conductive so it'll not foul electrical contacts (same goes for copper grease as far as electricity ..)

I usually use 50% of moly grease and 50% of lithium grease , and fill up the CV boots .. or 80% of moly grease and 20% of 80SAE gearbox oil , mix up and fill the CV boots :)
