Where Does This Go?

I've finally started putting my engine back together . I've come across this part in the bolts box but can't for the life of me remember were it comes from. Its about 1" long.

Not got a clue, but bring it along on Monday and Tom and Matt will know where it is meant to go

Looks like It goes in the vacuum pump.

Assuming that this is a GTi-6 engine that you're talking about, it's driven off the flywheel end of the exhaust camshaft.
