1.1 Xl Want More!

Hi guys hoping the ones in knowledge could help me out!!!

Got myself a 1.1 4speed manual choke 1988 205 mint body work, nippy engine for what it is but want more! Been searching on here and it's all abut confusing. I just want a 1.4 engine and box do they literally just bolt in and go? Nothing else needed? And say I wanted more power from the car I've been reading abut Vtr conversions. With the Vtr bottom end and 1.4 heads with the 1.4 carb ect. What easiest? Also my mate has a totalled 106 quicksilver. Could I transplant this engine in and put a 1.4 manifold and carb on with my current driveshafts but the quicksilver box? Bit of help would be greatly appreiciated!

Don't bother with the quicksilver engine and box, only 75bhp and heavy

 

If your engine is a TU engine an xs engine is a straight swap, using the xs carb dizzy and air filter, you'll want a 5 speed box tho.

Driveshafts are the same as are engine mounts.

Xs engines seam to pop up all the time, I just bought one with 100,000ish miles on, rebuilt the head and it goes very well, lots of fun!

 

What's the torque on a 1.3 Rallye out of interest?

xs engines are great mine runs mint now and even get better mpg and power when running super unleaded.

they are fast engine especially with the twin choke carb and 5 speed box i was sat on the bumper of a vectra sri 150 last night haha
