Really Kris? Is the v6 alloy blocked, or just cleverly designed? It'd be the weight of 2 cylinder ehads would make the biggest difference, i guess, not that tha would be too much.

Oh I reckon the complete engine must be heavier but I've heard the alloy V6 block is no heavier than the XU10 block, being iron.

the V6's are alloy block, and the whole engine weighs roughly the same, they're only lazy in the 406 because the car weighs so much!

I'd rather a lazy 200 bhp V6 than a mentalist revvyertitsoff 200 bhp 4 pot.

They aint that lazy! Autocar 0-60 in 7.4. They're faster than a GTi6. Ask Miles.

 you're 12 years older than me

what I mean is an engine that feels lazy but still produces the goods will be faster than a peaky one, as the lazy engien has a wider spread of usable torque.

anyway, a V6 sounds better :D

Ideally the Mi16 should have been a 2.3 litres 16 valve with 200bhp as standard. And different engine mounts to the 205
