well been busy with my grinder and zip wheel today, have been attacking all the rustyspots, not found much more drama but a few more wee parches, why do so many people not understand the concept of jacking points, shower of f***tards must have had at least four goes at jacking it up in the wrong place

well today i have found horrors, cut the sill off to replace what i thought would be a small repair, well the inner is pretty rusty/rotten right up to the door,so had to cut sill off, what i thought was going to be a small patch up job has escalated and i'm assuming the other side is going to be much the same, not going to bodge it so looks like i am going to have to do 2 full sills along with all the wee patches i have found.

this 205 is quickly turning into a labour of love but will be worth it when done i am hoping as not going to use it in the winter/wet so when done properly it should be good for years,so next jobs are drop the tank and rear beam and start cutting out the rot

got my zender kit through the post today, was so exited i nearly did a sex wee, well it is complete and undamaged so thats a relief, even came with the fitting kit and fitting instructions but in german though so thats me screwed lol,my german stretches to ein bier bitte and danke and thats about it,will just have to go by pics i think or google translator

i was quite surprised by the construction of the kit as i previously had the peugeot sport kit and it was quite heavy thick rubbery plastic 3-4 mm thick, but this kit is really lightweight abs plastic would be lucky if the front valance weighs 2kg and the rear about 1.5,is beautifully made though and will just need a wee scuff up with scotchbrite before priming, well in a few months time when i have a rustfree shell to work with lol, this has to be the biggest bargain i have ever had for a car and am chuffed to bits, think it might have to be germanic looking wheels maybe a set of 16 inch lenso bsx bbs reps will be on order soon, later guys

well the sorrento is well and truly butchered,or f***ed whatever way you want to look at it,bit of rust on the sill turned into removing the sill, inner sill was rotten, triangular section behind inner was rotten and bit behind that wasn't too great next to tank.

really cant be arsed spending a fortune and time on a rotten s*itter, well i have already spent fortune on bits so went looking for another shell and have just got a rolland garros cabriolet, used to have a mk4 escort cabby and quite liked the roof down experience so thought f*** it why not,its low low miles and gave this one a thorough going over, there is a wee bit of welding to be done in boot, and a wee bit on bottom of screen behind the cowling and rubber but that was all i could find in an hour of poking and prodding.

hope i'm not going to piss anyone off with this project and i am going to choose a better thread title when i pick it up at start of december lol.

so this week i am taking the last of the bits off the sorrento then its off to pug heaven for the poor rotten thing.

i think this project can be officially listed as aborted

This won't be the most popular of comments, but let the man do what he wants, it's his car. Either that or offer to take it off his hands.

Either way it's going to get some love, and can probably be put "back to standard" by someone who feels it's the right thing to do at a later date.
