Morning and snowproxes in a 185/55/15 are showing as £69 a tyre

OH right, its because im looking at 195/50/15

 

 

Always much cheaper since its more common and fits fine.

Personally I much prefer 185/55/15 to a 195/50 profile on snow, 205's aren't very heavy

The Alpins are great, except in snow...

Then, from my experience, the Goodyear Ultragrip and Vredestein Snowtrac are better....

I'm going to look for some Alpin's again, still have a pair from last year with plenty of tread and only 3 years old, looking on ebay I can pick them up for about £139 a pair in a 195 50 H rated, T is a little cheaper again.

 

I'm not particularly worried about snow performance, given how little we got I'm more interested in how they last and behave in the cold and wet.

Same here, just a couple of days a year isn't worth it - i'm after 'cold weather' tyres.

I understand this but when 195/50's are soooo much cheaper - why would you pay the extra?
