Now then,

Anyone got the details of what belt size to use if you delete the air-con pump, everything tensioner wise is std.

If you're running PAS and alternator in standard positions, and you're using the "Rallye" tensioner setup, then the belt needed is 6PK1163

Tell me more about the "rallye" tensioner?

I was planning on just using the std vts everything bar the air-con, are you saying thats not a workable idea?

the "rallye" tensioners are simply the XU10J4R / RS manual setup for non aircon cars.

Google is your friend - both the tensioner and the idler are completely different to the AC setup.

Well finally got around to fitting the formentioned "Rallye" setup.

Guess what?

Yup dont fit........

A 6PK1160 belt is too short..........

Grrrrrr french cars.

I can only guess that PH2 Xsara's must have a bigger PAS pulley on the pump?

Anyone shed any light?

Cheers

6PK1165 fitted my Ph2 Xsara engine with "Rallye" tensioner and idler just fine.

The adjuster has sufficient adjustment wound on that I would be surprised if a 6PK1160 belt wouldn't also have fitted, and as far as I'm aware the PAS, alternator and crank pulleys are all the same size between a Phase 1 VTS/GTi-6 and a Phase 2.

Panic over, normal service has been resumed. It fits.

Well it does now I've removed the burr on the adjuster so it extends fully.

DOH......!
