Mi16 Starter Motor

Hi all

 

Just a quick question about buying a brand new starter motor

 

Ive done a search and read threads about people saying any SM from an XU engine would fit an mi16

 

The last timei needed one my guy said he had alot of trouble finding one to fit

 

Looking on ebay ive come across brand new ones and just wanted a bit of imput to see if they would def fit etc before i went and bought one.

Yes that will fit, assuming that it's a 1.9 Mi16 that you've got.

 

Depending what starter you currently have fitted, you might need to swap the connector on the solenoid wire from a spade to a ring terminal, but that's about it. Otherwise, it's a straight fit, and if that is 1.4kW as advertised, it'll likely be noticeably more powerful than your existing starter.
