1.9 Running Problem

Can someone help my 1.9 8v runs fine on idle and when you are doing 60 or more. but when driving around the town the car splutters and bursts back into life and then back again and will do till you pick up speed. could this be the air flow meter?

Possible issues-

 

1. Over retarded or advanced ignition. Have you tried adjusting recently?

2. Bad dizzy cap. Open the cap and check for carbon buildups.

3. Ignition amp gone bad. This occurs in summer as the weather is hot so sometimes causes the amp to go bad because of over heating.

4. Slipping timing belt?

 

Maybe someone else more experienced can pinpoint and confirm.

Hello,

 

I had a similar problem, in low loads and speed, it wobbles. It was the spark plugs. The car was starting running fine cold so I didn't check that immediately.

 

Let me know if it was that.
