Gearbox Syncros

Hi Guys,

 

I have a 91 205 gti, just coming back on the road, and am dead keen to have some fun in it, yet probably keep it standard.

 

PROBLEM

 

Clutch is being done, but i need to really research the box fast as the guy doing the clutch has been pointing out that this needs to be done and should be done at the same time of course,

 

Can you help?

 

Where can i go for decent re con box, or perhaps a good repairer in the london / essex area??

Someone has just quoted 250 + VAT to refurb and replace 3rd n 5th suyncros on this box, what would you guys suggest thats like on price??

That will be S/H parts, For a start 3 & 4 are the shared and 5th is separate, Cost new for each hub is cica £185.00 which gives you a idea, Same goes for bearings, A complete set of bearings are getting on for around £170.00 so hope that gives you an idea of what will be done
