sorry for the short start, i was on my iphone and i didnt really have a clue so thought id wait till i got home.

my first ever thread :)

this is how i bought my 205 rallye off an old boy who has had it since new. i was so happy when i collected it, because i see it around my area for years always waved and spoke to the guy. i got it home and started having a look over it

needed petrol first :)

soon as i got it home the kit was off :) and lucky me it was only double sided taped on he said there were optional extra from peugeot (not sure if he was correct)

since then i have had the wheel painted and had a good polish oil change and centre box taken out:) the car has done 123k and is very solid i am ordering the sticker kit asap.

now i have got it looking alot better from when i got it im trying to decide what to do next

the seats need doing :( been quoted 800 for a complete overhaul of the seats i thought it seamed alot, what you guys think or can anyone point me in a good direction im from essex 5 miles out of southend. atm they have seat covers on.

i was thinking a 106gti/vts j4 engine i see 1 at FCS show this year with jp4 (i think) on throttle bodies look good

i already have a 205 gti turbo so turbo route is out the window

or rebuild the standard engine and keep it standard B)

i was thinking that but with price of the 1.6 16v j4 engine with low miles being cheap and there a good engine. i have a 205 gti that im going to take all the parts off i need so there is a shell there if anyone wants it if i decide to go this route :)

i have being looking at a few threads and have seen that 1.6 gti hubs will be a striaght swap for the rallye hubs and they make the wheel sit out wider am i correct???

If I put 1.6 hubs on it will I be able to use 205 gti suspension?

You can use GTI struts and springs on any 205, its the anti roll bar, drop link, wish bone and sub frame that are different. In using GTI struts the drop link bracket is unused on a TU car.

Keep it standard! Would be a shame to modify such a clean original example.

Looks so much better with that horrible GTI trim peeled off, I'd say keep original too.

Get 106 rallye wheels for it and ditch the engine as its crap, find an xs engine and box or 1.6 16v it.

I agree with Dave - get the XS engine in there so its a little quicker and maybe change the wheels. Will look great once you've got the stickers on! ^_^
