Recommended Posts

MrMemzi

I recently saw an add on ebay for a jag XK8 throttle body on a 205 gti inlet. Just wondering if this would of made any gains? As ive never seen it before?

It's on pistonheads classifieds at the moment too. It's a 70mm throttle body so bigger than standard so yes theoretically there are gains to be had. Id guess at WOT the injectors won't be able to flow enough fuel for the right mixture ratio though.

I sincerely doubt a larger throttle body is a bottleneck on a bog standard engine, so the answer is no, I don't think there are any gains to be had there.

the injectors will be able to flow enough, but the ecu wont have a clue that more air is going in, not that it''ll be much more as its sucking through a much smaller AFM bore
