Purchasing Correct Tachometric Relay

Recommended Posts

birdie205

1.9 gti 1989 wont start all pointing to tachometric relay, no power at pump , coil etc but pump runs when relay bridged,

current relay is a cartier 02474, GSF have supplied me with a 7 pin Hella version (4RP 008 189-111) , all the pins are the same except one which is labelled TD, the same pin on the cartier is labelled 1, have read on intenet that TD is rev limited version, could someone verify if this is true please, as the car is a road rally car and I would not wish to buy the wrong one, as GSF are being funny about returns.

Thanks

Jon

The relay has nothing to do with power at the ignition coil, that is an ignition switched 12v supply, without this it wont produce spark which in turn wont trigger the fuel pump relay.

Its pretty standard for returns on used electrical items to be refused.

Yeah, Bosch was original, but a lot of later stock was Valeo.

Bear in mind who made the injection system in the first place

There is never any obligation to sell anything. Most stuff is easier to keep in stock. We only last week bought another GTI to restore to perfect. Why flog bits for a pittance when we will need them sooner or later anyway.

We never got to a price and it was 405 stuff.

405, 205, 309 etc etc

Most dealers throw stuff away, write it off as dead. We don't. It's all useful stock.

Fair enough, you guys will stay on my " blacklist" of not for sale parts.

Cool.

Your not the only one Christophe Vanderdreich won't sell the old parts for the same reason.

It's not that we don't sell old parts, its just if we want them, we won't give them away. And the lads won't go watching through crates for a dead stock .99p washer when it's doing no harm sat in a container.

Always worth a ring though, I know a local lad got a full set of beam bearings, seals and bolts for a tenner on Saturday.

Robins day recently bought all of our wiper/lights/indicator stalks, the whole lot. Any model, any age. Weird.

Penrith = Massive

It's our biggest site. About 12 acres
