Flickering Handbrake Light?

Recommended Posts

jameswallace.

the hand brake warning light keep flickering on and off. especially when you drive it harder than normal.

any ideas what this could be? faulty sensor? loose wiring? or does it mean something seperate to the handbrake?

Brake fluid level is low - top it up to the max mark and the light should stop flickering

Maybe check how worn your breaks are too.

Brake wear sensor is a separate warning light to the combined handbrake / brake fluid level one.

as Anthony said more than likely low brake fluid level, other than that it would be level sensor, you can unplug and test or the hand brake micro switch but these usually fail full stop and not intermitant

thanks all sorted now. brake fluid must have been low but it was only half way down but a bit extra sorted it out!
