Gti6 Fuel Rail Conversion To An-6 Fittings

Recommended Posts

HERMAN

After wanting to do it for a while I have actually got around to it.

The process was

1. Obtain 4 x AN-6 steel blanking plugs.

2. Drill the blanking plugs out to 7MM to fit the steel fuel tubes under the car and drill the other 2 out to 8MM and 10MM to suit the fuel rail.

3. Remove the fuel rail and fuel tubes and chop the ends of.

4. Silver solder/ Braze the fittings to the fuel rail and steels tubes.

5. Clean up and remove any flux.

6. Re assemble the system using fittings from Torques (Forum member user name powers also see his web site on ebay http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Torques-U-K)

I took the fuel rail to the local plating company and had it zinc and black plated to tidy it up.

Nice work, I think that's the neatest ever relocation of the fuel filter I've seen yet.

How much were the materials?

What are you wanting me to do? If it is just to braze the fittings onto your fuel rail. Then I would just want the cost of the fittings.

Pm me

Cheers

Neil
