[trackday_prep] Blue 5 - Track Toy Build

Recommended Posts

BlueBolt

Some good work being done and already been done!! Although its "only" a track toy, keep it all being done to the standard you have started as one day you may want to take it back to a road car and you'll know she's good for it!! What you put into it now you'll benefit from so much more later!!

2 quick photos tonight, after a couple of coats of David's Zinc 182 - surprising how much better it makes it look - guess you can polish a turd :P

Damage to the O/S is obvious, but the red circle in the N/S picture (where the clip for the small gray cylinder attaches - forgot what it's called) is where the rust has come through from the back side of the panel. Just shows that the replacement panel was stuck on with hardley, if any rust protection and has faired worse than the original

The blue section shows where some of the plug welds are - guessing that is going to be a $hitter to get off!

Might have been a futile exercise, but i'd rather protect the bare metal while I decide what to do, rather than just let get in a worse stare than it already is!

Crappy update as no progress made - one forward, two back
