Can someone please advise,I have skimmed head to fit onto my XU engine ,not sure how much it is skimmed yet ,need to measure it somehow,will I need to fit a vernier pulley to correct the cam timing ?

If it's been skimmed excessively there is a possibility you'll need the vernier pulley. Measure first and see how you go.

I think WP knows the tolerance

2º (4º crank) per millimetre of skim is on the money.

problem is I dont know how much it has been skimmed,it came with the car and the owner did not know ! I know I can work out the compression by cc ing the the chambers but is there a way of knowing how much has been skimmed ? Would it be easier to just bolt it on and see how much the timing is out,how much can i get away with before it becomes a problem ?

Looks like those dimensions are for XU10 engine,any one got the measurement for XU9
